I am delighted to announce Drew Cooney will captain the side this season and Jordan Johnson will be vice captain and we have added a number of new players some of which will be known here at East Court more than others .

I would like to firstly take the opportunity to thank the players that have moved on this summer all of which have played an integral part in continuing to build on the last three years and I thank them for this and wish them all the very best in their futures.  All the lads were good servants to the club and deserve success in which everclub they play for this year and beyond that also .

We have signed a number of players to coincide with losing a few over the summer and I am sure you'll join me in welcoming them to the club.

We have brought back Jack Meeres after a spell with Saltdean, as well as Robin Deen also spending last season on loan at Saltdean. Dan Hogan has returned to the club via Whytleafe and Horsham and Tariq Straker returns after a season at Langley Wanderers. Dan Pearse has also signed as player coach from Dorking Wanderers after a short loan spell with us last season. So there’s a number of familiar faces back at the club that know what we are aiming to do this season and also know the club, it’s supporters and the main part of the squad already here from last season.

Added to that some new faces join and I’m equally as excited, about some of the new young players signed this season, as I have been in the past with some of the players that have moved on after spending time with us. Ross Ibertson signs from Hollands and Blair having previously been at Chelsea and Gillingham as a youth player, Josh Bray joins after a short spell out of the game after playing previously at this level with Chatham Town. Reed Wilson comes in after spells at Greenwich Borough, Margate and playing abroad, Kyle Woolven signs from Newhaven having played first team football for three seasons since the age of 16 and he’s someone we have kept tabs on and have high hopes for this year. Another big plus is we have managed to bring in Curtis Gaylor after a number of clubs where chasing him. Curtis is a Sussex based attacking midfielder who I genuinely believe will become a crowd favourite here this season and hopefully beyond that. We are still aiming at bringing in at least one forward, one wide player and one centre back plus the addition of several under 18s during pre season, so the squad is certainly taking shape.

I am now also pleased to announce the following players have stayed with us this season.

Jordan Johnson

Orlando Smith

Jack Bray

Drew Cooney

Ollie Boulding

Karn Miller Neave

Brannon Daly

Oshaye Hutchinson

I think this season we will slightly change tack as certainly we must be fitter, be more competitive in certain areas and certain games and work on being able to adjust and get results in different ways against different styles of play. I think we need a few more piano carriers than piano players this season, but because of how we want to play mostly, those piano carriers must be able to play a few notes and hold a tune or it won’t work and the piano players will certainly need to at least be prepared to lift the lid and carry their own stool or again it won’t work. It’s fine margines in football and last year we were the wrong side of the margin too often and it’s important we improve.  Year on year we have improved and I see this season as no different as we aim to improve on and off the pitch.

It’s not long now until it all starts again and I’m sure you are all looking forward to it and I hope to see as many of you as possible away to Dorking on the 6th of July. We have a testing pre-season which should stand us in good stead for the coming season.
